Infor Helps Breyer Increases New Business Agility and Speed (SCN)

Infor, a leading provider of beautiful business applications specialized by industry and built for the cloud, today announced that German machine manufacturer Breyer GmbH Maschinenfabrik (Breyer) has extended its investment in Infor technology with the latest generation of the Infor Configure Price Quote (CPQ) application. Infor CPQ will enhance an existing investment in Infor LN, an ERP system for industrial manufacturing. With Infor CPQ, Breyer aims to increase agility and speed by simplifying the creation of quotes for customers and integrate sales, product design, marketing and production.

Based on the southern border of Germany, Breyer has over 65 years of international, specialist expertise in the planning, production and commissioning of complex extrusion equipment for the plastics processing industry. Breyer uses in-house 3D programming and has an ultra-modern production centre to produce small series, customised solutions. Breyer implemented Infor LN three years ago to control financial and production processes around these operations.

Infor CPQ will help enable the sales team to co-operate with their customers to create individual proposals, including drawings, technical specifications, pricing and background information. The quotes can be displayed on any device via a web application. In the near future, Breyer will be able to use Infor CPQ to access different versions of products, based on alternative engineering algorithms. As customers make choices based on these options, Breyer staff on the shop floor will then receive accurate part lists / bills of material (BOMs), work plans and shop floor orders.

“For Breyer the ability to offer an extensive range of solutions is imperative. We need intelligent platform solutions at the level of components, machines or entire plants, to make sure these solutions are not only high quality, but can also be produced efficiently. With Infor CPQ we can integrate this platform approach into our IT and processes,” says Jürgen Gulde, CEO at Breyer GmbH.

“Product configuration is nothing new for companies that produce industrial solutions,” says Gerhard Knoch, Vice President & General Manager DACH at Infor. “However, if you want to be one step ahead, you have to be able to quickly facilitate the expertise of product specialists into products and into the sales process. Infor CPQ really shines when salespeople can benefit from this and turn into product experts while sales opportunities become solid business deals.”
