Gracenote Details Future of Content Discovery at HITS May 23

The lines continue to blur between entertainment types and the experiences of consumers who seek to engage with them. Video games and comic books spawn new TV franchises. Musicians and athletes are producing and starring in feature films. Podcasts are linked to all types of entertainment.

A vast array of video and audio content is reaching consumers at every time and place through smart TVs in the mornings and evenings at home to connected cars and mobile devices anywhere in between. And celebrities and influencers are driving new ways for media to reach people in all aspects of their daily lives.

At the May 23 Hollywood Innovation and Transformation Summit (HITS), at the Culver Theater in Los Angeles, and online via MESA’s virtual platform, the MESAverse, Trent Wheeler, chief product officer for Nielsen’s Gracenote, will offer insights into how consumers are going to consume and sift through all these entertainment options, and how content owners can make the process simpler, in the presentation “Over the Horizon: Discussing the Future of Entertainment Discovery.”

“With its focus on media industry innovation and transformation, HITS Spring is the ideal environment for bold, forward-looking conversations,” Wheeler said. “Gracenote is thrilled to offer our perspective on where entertainment is going in the future and how connected data will further blur the lines between content types and user experiences — matters Hollywood certainly has eyes on today.”

The annual Hollywood Innovation and Transformation Summit (HITS) Spring event is the industry’s largest gathering of media and entertainment’s CIOs and top technology minds, bringing together the IT, data, and security communities of the industry.

Held as a “hybrid” in-person and virtual event, those not in Los Angeles can attend via Zoom or the MESAverse, MESA’s virtual work environment for its members and communities to watch live presentations, network, and step on the stage to share opinions.

The MESAverse uses ICVR’s RendezVu, a proprietary, interactive 3D-world application that will allow for hybrid live and virtual events and regular day-to-day interactions that go far beyond video conferencing.

The Hollywood Innovation and Transformation Summit event is produced by MESA in association with the Hollywood IT Society (HITS) and presented by Amazon Studios Technology, with sponsorship by Fortinet, Genpact, Prime Focus Technologies, Signiant, Softtek, Convergent, Gracenote, Altman Solon, AppTek, Ascendion, Coresite, EPAM, MicroStrategy, Veritone, CDSA, EIDR and PDG Consulting.
