Oracle Acquires API Company Apiary (SCN)

Oracle has announced it’s acquiring application program interface (API) specialists Apiary, boosting Oracle’s API integration cloud solutions. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Apiary’s APIFlow solution offers users both the framework and tools to develop APIs that share enterprise services and data, to create cloud-based applications and experiences.

“Oracle’s API Integration Cloud enables companies to secure, consume, monetize, and analyze APIs,” said Amit Zavery, SVP of integration cloud for Oracle. “With Apiary, Oracle will also provide customers advanced capabilities to design and govern API’s, allowing companies to manage the entire API lifecycle and deliver integrated applications.”

Apiary lays claim to helping companies create “hundreds” of APIs, with its APIFlow solution covering design, governance, testing and documentation, supporting both API Blueprint and OpenAPI industry standards.
