Metadata Specialist Meta Rebrands as Fabric

In the wake of Facebook’s name change, UK-based media and entertainment content metadata specialist Meta has rebranded as Fabric, and debuted a newly redesigned website: fabricdata.com.

“In the wake of Facebook’s name change, we’ve taken the opportunity to rebrand in a way more aligned with our product,” the company announced in an email Dec. 2. “Our new brand name — Fabric — better reflects our key technologies and applications, which take disparate strands of data and weave them together into a unified data architecture for the media and entertainment industry.

“We’re the same people, the same company, now with a new name. As we move into the next generation of our brand, we look forward to the next chapter in our relationship with you.”

Fabric’s platform allows customers to store identification, editorial, technical, rights, discovery and AI-generated content metadata for media and entertainment catalogues, providing “a categorical source of truth for title catalog data within an organization.”

The company helps clients manage and enhance title catalogs with automated enrichment and a localization platform that streamlines the core localization processes. WarnerMedia, ViacomCBS, MGM, FOX and HBO are among the media companies using Fabric.
