Fabric Origin Adds Rotten Tomatoes

Media and entertainment catalog metadata management Fabric has added Rotten Tomatoes, the iconic brand for movie and TV ratings, recommendations, and opinions, to its Fabric Origin service.

Consumers have been using Rotten Tomatoes and the “Tomatometer” for more than 25 years to help guide them to content they want to see. The Tomatometer is based on a consensus of critics and also available is an Audience Score to show consumers what their peers think of a title.

Customers of Fabric Origin can now access Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer, Audience Scores, critic snippets, and critics’ consensus from Fabric Origin APIs. Customers can use the Rotten Tomatoes service to help them with curation (“Critically Acclaimed According to RT” for titles that are Certified Fresh), promotions, and analytics.

Customers can use the Origin IDs matched to Rotten Tomatoes to pull in the Rotten Tomatoes data, making it easy to integrate on their platforms or into their data sets.

“We are excited to partner with Rotten Tomatoes to help our clients access the data they need to create new content discovery experiences, get intelligence about their own produced titles, or help them curate their VOD services,” said Rhodes Mason, VP of business development at Fabric. “Combined with Fabric Studio, content owners can choose metadata that matters to them and help them promote their titles to licensees, consumers, as well as measure the success of a title.”
